Position Summary

Investigates, evaluates, disposes and settles complex liability claims with minimal supervision and includes the investigation, determination and evaluation of liability and damages, some claims may include minor bodily injury claims. Exercises proper judgment and decision making to analyze the claims exposure to determine the proper course of action and to appropriately settle the claim. Interacts extensively with various parties involved in the claim process. Handles claims consistent with clients' and corporate policies, procedures and "best practices" and in accordance with any statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements.

Documents and communicates all claim activity timely and effectively and in a manner, which supports the outcome of the claim file within the company claims processing system. Will be expected to be on a rotational on call schedule for after-hours claims. Self-paced continuing education. Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve clients, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing and embrace new challenges. A Senior Claims Representative at this level should be able to work at full case load capacity of 30-40 claims monthly. Monetary Authority will increase as more complex claims are handled.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

+Take claims calls during business hours and on-call after hours (rotation)and assist callers as needed.

+Interview customers, claimants, and witnesses to conclude the investigation process.

+Determine Liability, Set up of Claim in A1 , compile an Action Plan and handle claims to conclusion.

+Partner with appraisers/estimators to manage tractor/trailer repairs and/or total loss evaluations.

+Coordinate Repairs with Intercompany repair facilities and outside vendors.

+Coordinate Repairs with Third Parties, repair facilities and outside vendors.

+Ability to successfully negotiate the settlement and disposition of claims including the ability to interpret related documentation.

+Review, Approve all repairs to Company Tractors, Trailers and Third Party Claimant Vehicles.

+Preparing Total Loss Evaluations for Company Tractors and Trailers and Third Party Claimant Vehicles.

+Negotiate with customers and other insurance carriers.

+Requesting Payments on Claims and Executing Releases when needed.

+Maintain Spreadsheets and reports on claim files under their assignment. Weekly claims review.

+Consistent Communication with Claims Manager on complex claims and settlements.

+Excellent Customer service and dispute resolution independently.

+Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled.

+Continuing Education for licensing maintains.

+Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

+Travel for job 50% of the time

+Field work may be needed due to location of any accident, injury, court/mediation requirements.
