Statement Regarding Big Sky

It’s come to our attention that on November 17th ABC will premiere a show called Big Sky. The program, which is based on a series written by C.J. Box, opens with detectives who are searching for two sisters that have disappeared and apparently have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana.  From trailers produced by ABC, we’re extremely concerned about how truck drivers are portrayed. This misrepresentation of truck drivers and the transportation industry threatens to harm an entire profession’s reputation. It is an inaccurate view of the people who work tirelessly, and often, thanklessly, each and every day. These men and women are the backbone of our company, our industry, and our nation and they deserve to be represented accurately and positively in media and entertainment.
