Corporate - Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager will have a minimum of five years of applicable experience. This position will work with the Director of Human Resources to oversee organizational development, recruitment and staffing, employment law, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits of the company. Job requires oversight of company policies and practices to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws. The Human Resources Manager will maintain awareness of business needs, objectives, compensation, and general HR trends while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of personnel files, documents and manuals. Provide leadership and supervision for assigned staff; work collaboratively with other members of the Human Resources Department to accomplish Company’s goals and objectives. They will provide a safe, secure, legal environment with the proper tools and systems to maximize complete job satisfaction for employees and support company growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and supervise existing HR staff
  • Build and deliver training to employees, including but not limited to Sexual Harassment, Wage & Hour, Diversity & Inclusion, Progressive Discipline, Drug & Alcohol Awareness and Performance Management
  • Recruit, hire, and retain quality candidates for open positions within the Company
  • Oversee the HRIS administration, including but not limited to manage activities related to personnel records administration and development, implementation and administration of employee self-directed access
  • Supervise department’s benefit administration (enrollments, terminations, inquiries, employee assistance, invoice approval, coordinating short-term disability claims), vendor and insurance broker relations, and Leave of Absence administration
  • Maintaining relationship with insurance vendors and brokers
  • Conducting investigations related to employee relations
  • Ensure governmental regulation compliance
  • Review Company policies to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws
  • Assist managers with employee disciplinary actions and terminations
  • Responsible for handling requests for unemployment claims
  • Ensure proper communication of all HR policies, procedures and programs
  • Educate managers and supervisors in appropriate and fair human resources practices
  • Ensure governmental regulation compliance
  • Professional development in current HR topics
  • Perform additional related duties and assignments as directed by Management

Required Skills:

  • BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive work experience in Human Resources
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Multi-state knowledge and understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to make presentations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Supervisory experience and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to interface with people at all levels
  • Experience with ADP Work Force Now is advantageous

Environment and Physical Requirements:

The majority of the work week will be in office, other than occasional business travel (15-20%). This is not a remote position. Travel by plane or car as required. Duties to include administrative functions using the phone, computer and communicating with people. This job will require occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time, perform keyboard operations and climb stairs as needed.
