What you’ll be doing

Position reports to the Provisioning Center Operations Manager or Provisioning Center General Manager

The Shift Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining standardized tools and templates to ensure his/her site is always tour/audit ready. The Shift Manager will embrace the Core Values personally, and he/she will proactively advocate those values throughout the Company. The Shift Manager will promote healthy bench strength initiatives and team building within his/her area of responsibility. He/she will be responsible for operational aspects, including, but not limited to, labor scheduling and supervision, quality and continuous improvement initiatives, proper utilization of space/resources/equipment, financial responsibility, and the safety/security of all resources, to include property, equipment, and people. Ability to read and comprehend the use of a handheld device, RF Scanner, to pick order tickets, process orders by locating items in the warehouse, completing orders that require paperwork, and lastly staging them in the shipping area. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, must be comfortable with physical demands while working safely yet efficiently by pushing, pulling, and lifting to 50lbs. Stand on your feet for 8 hours or more.

Schedule

This is a second-shift job with hours from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Weekends are required.

What the role involves

Operations
 
Capture data daily; maintain content and format weekly.
 
Ensure operational and safety reports are completed and up to date.
 
Ensure current and accurate inventory control for customer’s products and inventory.
 
Ensure that specific customer Build Lists are picked and staged efficiently, accurately, and within deadlines.

Labor Management
 
Oversee job assignments by employee name.
 
Direct Provisioning Center personnel to achieve established operational, safety and quality objectives.
 
Match the skill and background of the employee to the workload.
 
Utilize effective communication and motivational techniques.
 
Promote healthy bench-strength initiatives and team-building throughout the operation.

Administrative
 
Deliver targeted financial, operational, and KPI results on a monthly basis.
 
Oversee job assignments and developmental needs at each level of the organization.
 
Complete performance reviews in a timely manner.
 
Administer disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
 
Makes staffing decisions as necessary with consultation of management and shared services.

Equipment/Safety
 
Monitor cleanliness, safety, and working condition of all equipment.
 
Oversee adjustments and repairs.
 
Provide safety instruction to personnel as needed.
 
Load, unload, stack, and otherwise move product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other material handling equipment as needed.
 
Work with the Safety Department to develop, implement, and direct programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, property, and equipment.
 
Comprehend and ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, corporate policies, to drive compliance by assuring elements such as training, record keeping, and operations meet requirements.
 
Lead incident investigations of workplace injuries or environmental events. Properly record and report on such incidents. Provide follow-up assessments and drive corrective actions.

Housekeeping and Security
 
Manage programs to ensure tools and equipment are stored in designated areas.
 
Store customer’s products safely and correctly to ensure accurate inventories while minimizing any risk of damage.
 
Ensuring the site is always tour-ready through 5-S standardization.
 
Maintain strict pest and rodent control.
 
Ensure compliance with appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
 
Monitor the maintenance and upkeep of the Provisioning Center.
 
Assist Operations Manager – ensuring facility, employees, and customer’s product are secure.
 
Perform regular security patrols in/around the Provisioning Center.
 
Observe any conditions that may create security concerns.
 
Respond to emergency situations and/or alarms and contact appropriate emergency services based upon the situation.
 
Work with the Signatory Officer to maintain the integrity of the badging process.
 
Regularly review and test all Provisioning Center security processes and procedures.

Relationships
 
Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with all customer’s representatives.
 
Maintain a courteous and professional relationship with customer’s vendors and suppliers.
 
Audit operations to ensure service and KPI performance standards are met.
 
Establish customer relations training for all front-line personnel.
 
Work with all other internal Shared Services departments to ensure the overall effectiveness of the Provisioning Center.

What we’re looking for

Required
 
High school degree
 
Two to three years of relevant experience
 
General office knowledge, including telephone techniques and computer skills, in a customer service environment
 
Effective communication and listening skills
 
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
 
Must demonstrate responsible work habits and satisfy pre-employment requirements, including background check and drug screen
Preferred
 
Associate's or Bachelor's degree
 
Business, supply chain, materials, or logistics curriculum
 
Bilingual communication skills
